ZiviTV: Discovery Architecture & Technical SEO Re-engineering
Role: Full-Stack Engineer & Technical SEO Specialist
Status: Actively Publishing
11 days into a structured 100-day content & search visibility roadmap.

The Objective
A movie and TV discovery platform rebuilt from scratch, with a 100-day technical SEO and content roadmap driving organic growth.
ZiviTV inherited crippling technical debt: an uncurated 800+ URL sitemap auto-generated from raw TMDB datasets, riddled with JavaScript Invalid Date serialization errors corrupting sitemap XML across 13 fragmented chunks. The objective was to completely re-architect the application on Next.js 15, consolidate bloated URL structures down to a lean 16-page static architecture, eradicate indexing blockers in Google Search Console, and implement a data-backed 100-day content roadmap.
Technical Stack
- Framework & UI:
- Next.js 15 (App Router), React, Tailwind CSS
- Database & ORM:
- Supabase (PostgreSQL), Drizzle ORM
- External Data API:
- The Movie Database (TMDB API)
- SEO & Research Stack:
- Google Search Console, AlsoAsked, Ubersuggest, TMDB Trending
Key Highlights
- Sitemap Architecture Overhaul: Rebuilt an 800+ URL bloated sitemap into a clean, static 16-page architecture.
- XML Serialization Fix: Diagnosed and fixed a JavaScript date-serialization bug corrupting sitemap XML across multiple fragments.
- Full Technical SEO Audit: Fixed soft-404s on dynamic route boundaries, restored missing metadata caused by client-boundary leaks, configured strict robots.txt allowlists.
- 100-Day Roadmap & Anti-Cannibalization: Built a zero-budget SEO research pipeline, editorial structural rules, and a keyword tracker preventing self-cannibalization.
Architecture & Execution
Data Layer & Next.js 15 Rebuild
Migrated the discovery engine to Next.js 15 coupled with Drizzle ORM and Supabase. Cleaned up external TMDB API integrations to cache responses efficiently, eliminating brittle client fetches and standardizing catalog queries across movie and TV discovery routes.
Sitemap Consolidation & XML Date Safety
Inherited 13 fragmented sitemaps with over 800 unranked URLs and broken timestamp outputs. Replaced the generator with a unified, date-safe sitemap.ts module. Pruned low-value thin URLs into 16 high-intent, crawl-efficient static landing pages.
Technical SEO & Search Console Diagnostics
Resolved soft-404 responses returned on invalid IDs, ensuring proper 404/not-found status codes. Repaired metadata propagation blocked behind use client boundaries in the App Router. Systematically debugged persistent Google Search Console “Couldn't fetch” notifications by auditing raw server logs and distinguishing reporting latency from actual crawler handshake errors.
Zero-Budget Research Stack & Content Engine
Formulated an iterative keyword discovery workflow utilizing Google Search Console query logs, TMDB trending metrics, AlsoAsked, and Ubersuggest. Structured each piece with rigid editorial rules and built an internal keyword-scoring index to prevent intra-site cannibalization. Deployed 11 roadmap days across focused topic clusters including Sci-Fi Hidden Gems and Psychological Thriller Endings.
Status & Impact
Eliminated 100% of sitemap XML validation failures and soft-404 crawl waste. ZiviTV now maintains a fully indexable crawl surface, pristine search-bot access, and consistent organic keyword indexing propelled by the ongoing 100-day roadmap.
